Ministry lawyer in conflict of interest? |

Giovanna Debono has confirmed that the lawyer appointed to defend an adjudication board decision in favour of Road Construction limited is Carmelo Abela, who is also a lawyer for Road Construction.
ONE news journalist Charlon Gouder exposed a document that proves that Carmelo Galea worked as a lawyer for the company.
The ministry said that it had to appoint Dr Galea as its lawyer because the Gozo ministry did not have the services of the government lawyer. It did not say why the ministry did not appoint a lawyer from the Attorney General’s office.
